Welcome to OUTA Sight, where we aim to provide resources for unlimited opportunities towards achievement for those who are visually challenged.  The mission of the OUTA Sight Foundation is to develop and implement programs that will have a massive impact on the world of the visually challenged.  This website is one of our mechanisms towards fulfilling this mission.

This website is for those who are visually challenged, family members and friends of the visually challenged, professionals and caregivers who work with seniors and others with vision loss, and those who are in a position to advocate full inclusion and acceptance of those who are visually challenged.

We hope this site will help guide you to information that will help the visually challenged attain the independence and self-sufficiency that they deserve.  We believe that those who are visually challenged are no different from anyone else.  They just have to do things a bit differently.  If, as visually challenged or sighted individuals, we can truly believe this, then we have taken the biggest step towards full inclusiveness and acceptance.

OUTA Sight Resources is where you will learn what OUTA Sight has to offer, including how to contact us with personal questions you may have.  We believe that those who are visually challenged, especially those who are beginning to experience vision loss or have been recently diagnosed with an eye condition that could cause vision loss, need more than adaptive products and vision rehabilitation.  They also need to learn how to cope with the emotional realities of living with vision loss.  We hope you will not only find answers here, but also write to us with your questions, so that we can share your experiences with others.  Consider it the OUTA Sight “Dear Abby” column!

Take a look around here!  We especially invite those who work with the visually challenged, such as eye care professionals, and administrators and activity directors at senior residences.  We offer workshops, seminars and outreach presentations for all types of audiences.  We also offer special products we have developed, such as the Vision Information Station and the Functional Assessment Questionnaire.
